Marc Wilde was born in Oakland, Calif. in 1930. His early dance training was with Raoul Pause in Oakland. In 1955, he co-founded the Ballet Players' Guild which gave dancers, designers, and technicians opportunities to create works. In 1960, he co-founded, with Alan Howard, the Pacific Ballet of San Francisco and was its principal choreographer until 1973. From 1965-1969, he ran his own company, the Marc Wilde Ballet.
